The 5 most beautiful football stadiums in Scotland
Scotland is not filled with ultra-modern stadiums made for the elite to watch Champions League football in all luxury and comfort. No, in Scotland you will find pure and rough football grounds where the average Joe enjoys their favourite sport, with all its imperfections. Exactly how football is meant to be. These five wonderful stadiums are a perfect reflection of that.

Ibrox Stadium
The Ibrox Stadium of Rangers FC is one of Britain’s most magnificent stadiums given its majestic and monumental façade. Beautiful red bricks, phenomenal windows and the name ‘Rangers F.C.’ shines splendidly on top of the main entrance. On the corner of the Bill Struth Main Stand and the Copland Road Stand, you will find the iconic metal gates in the club’s colours and a statue that in the first instance just looks like a homage to their beloved John Grieg, but also is a memorial to the 66 people who sadly passed away in the Ibrox disaster of 1971. The boiling atmosphere inside the home ground of the blue and protestant side of Glasgow also does not disappoint.
Easter Road
The characteristic home ground of Hibernian is called ‘’The Holy Ground’’ or ‘’The Leith San Siro’’ by its fans. It is a delightful British stadium in a residential area. The green and white exterior of the stadium stands in beautiful contrast with the dark brown bricks that the surrounding houses are made of. Easter Road is no stranger to iconic moments, especially not when the crowd starts singing ‘Sunshine on Leith’ by The Proclaimers. A magnificent home for one of Scotland’s most beautiful and special football clubs.
Celtic Park
How could we make a list of Scottish football grounds and not include Celtic Park? The exterior is unique, although not the most spectacular. Definitely keep an eye out for the facade of the Jock Stein Stand though, which is fully covered by a large banner of club legends. Once you step inside you have landed in an imposing arena which is almost always sold-out. The fans create a spectacle each week. Sixty thousand Scots, as proud as they are of their Celtic, sing loud and proud the most infectious songs.
Pittodrie Stadium
The Pittodrie Stadium is anything but your typical boring modern stadium. Every stand has its own unique character. The facade of The Merkland Stands looks like an old city wall, the old Main Stand appears more like an industrial factory and the remarkable Richard Donald Stand is just immensely large. The only thing that separates the stadium from the untouched Scottish coast is a golf course.
Tannadice Park
Sometimes stadiums have so many flaws that they simply are perfect. Dundee United’s Tannadice Park belongs to this category. From the inside, it is a rather odd mix of separate stands. None of the floodlights are the same and the pitch has a height difference of two metres from one corner to the other. It will take you hours to explore all the asymmetries of this wonderful ground.
