In Scotland’s biggest city (but not the capital!) football is priority number one. Proud fans, magnificent history and good football are more than enough reasons to visit Celtic Park. Superb and green, just like the club.

There is not a single European club that has won more trophies than Rangers FC. In the blue part of Glasgow, the fans are more than proud of their club and its achievements. A magnificent stadium with an eye-watering monumental facade. It feels like love at first sight.

National football stadiums often lack a bit of character, but Scotland's Hampden Park in Glasgow is an exception. The renowned Hampden Roar made the football temple world-famous. Despite some unsuccessful years for the Scottish national football team recently, the Scottish crowd still manages to make every game a loud and intimidating affair.

We would walk 500 miles to end up at one of Scotland’s most beautiful clubs. Hibernian plays his home games in a wonderfully old and characteristic stadium in the fairy-like Edinburgh. The club was almost ‘murdered’ by the chairman of rival Hearts, but luckily there is still ‘Sunshine on Leith’.

Heart of Midlothian. The name rolls so beautifully over your tongue. The football club plays in its stunning maroon kits in Tynecastle Park: A stadium that is horrible to look at from the outside, but remarkably fine from the inside with its steep stands. A well-supported club with a special history surrounded by excellent Scottish pubs.

In the 1980s Sir Alex Ferguson enjoyed a successful spell at Aberdeen FC. They won one trophy after the next in both Scotland and Europe. Since their foundation, The Dons have been playing their home games in the unique Pittodrie Stadium, located beautifully in a historical port city with pristine beaches.

A holiday to the industrial port city of Dundee might not be on top of your list, but the old Tannadice Park of Dundee United is characteristic and perfect in its imperfection. A visit is more than worth your time, particularly because the stadium of rivals Dundee FC is a mere 200 yards away.
